The Prologue Stage

The Gibb Challenge's Prologue Stage provides a community celebration to properly recognise the significant contribution Broome makes towards the success to our annual charitable event. In five years The Gibb Challenge has raised over $1.5M for WA Police Legacy and our charity partners. No other town is so strongly represented in terms of team participation, community support, local government assistance, corporate hospitality nor emergency service provision. Broome is the spiritual home of The Gibb Challenge.

Gibb River Road - Derby to El Questro

Established in 2007, The Gibb Challenge is a socially competitive team relay mountain bike event tracing the iconic stock route of the Gibb River Road from Derby to El Questro Wilderness Park. Included in the calendar of events for the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster, The Gibb Challenge has raised in excess of $1,500,000 for WA Police Legacy and our charity partners.

A couple of years ago registrations filled in 17 minutes.....faster than a Milli Vanilli revival concert. Last year registrations tripled team availability. This is one insanely popular charity ride - join us one year or every year for your life defining Kimberley adventure.

Lake Argyle Adventure Race

Lake Argyle via Kununurra

The Build Up's looming and the thunderheads are gathering on the horizon with menacing intent. Take on the dramatic weather with an equally challenging course; 3 km swim in the pristine waters of Lake Argyle, 29km downstream paddle on the mighty Ord River, 40 km mountain bike stage with spectacular vistas and a 10 km cross-country run past historic Durack's Homestead.

It's a course of such magnificent beauty that your laboured breath will be taken away. Experience one precious Kimberley moment after another.

Durack's Folly

Lake Argyle Village Resort

Complimenting the Lake Argyle Swim, Durack's Folly was a sixty kilometre mountain bike race set on the magestic Matheson Range in the remote East Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Competitors used four wheel drive trails, single track and service roads leading out from and returning to Lake Argyle Village Resort.

Durack's Folly is all grown up now and evolved into a multi-discipline adventure race. See Lake Argyle Adventure Race for further event details.
