Lake Argyle Resort Village
$70.90AUD (Inc GST)
Set in the stunning Matheson Range on the banks of Lake Argyle, Durack’s Folly is a single stage 60 kilometre mountain bike race from the creator of the Gibb River Road Mountain Bike Challenge.
Lending it's name to the event and providing a unique race feature is a steep, and heavily degraded cattle pass constructed at the turn of the last century by the pioneering Durack Family. A prize purse will be offered to the first male and female competitor able to ascend Durack’s Folly without footfall or assistance. This is a savage hike-a-bike section but the views are entirely worth the effort.
Competitors will utilise rugged four wheel drive trails, sweet single track and the odd service road leading out from and returning to the Lake Argyle Resort Village. The final course route will be dependant upon another classic Wet Season influence so check the course map closer to the date. Durack's Folly is set to showcase the extraordinary potential for adventure style racing in the East Kimberley and will feature as a complimentary event to the Lake Argyle Swim. A seriously sick 10 kilometre or 20 kilometre swim.....really?
